Tim's eldest son, Danny, honed his drumming skills by gigging with Tim and Tim's long-time mate John Martin back when he was a teenager. He inherited the love for earthy rocking blues locking himself in his bedroom behind his kit playing along with Free and Bad Company hits until he knew the songs – 'chop-for-chop'. Following his apprenticeship with Tim and John he joined up with Tim and Mick Duncombe to help sustain the 'Red Eyes Bluesband' – an early blues project before Tim branched back out into other fields of performance as the 'Tim Jenks Band'. Cutting the chord with his Dad 10 years ago, Danny developed into a very fine drummer and regularly made the line-up when needed but has developed his own band projects – 'The Whitmo Deans' and 'Vandaliers' the former stretching his style across funk, soul & hip-hop, the latter delving into a more grungy, blues, stoner rock. In between all this he's managed to raise a young family! With the retirement from the line-up of drummer George Newsome he's now back in the driving seat for as many commitments as he can be as part of 'Tim Jenks & Band'. |
