Tim Jenks Gear

We celebrated 50 years of TJ Music in 2012 - and to really celebrate I purchased one of Rory Gallagher's Telecaster guitars from Rory's collection which went on sale at New Kings Road Guitar Emporium.

My main amp has been a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL122 Combo, a beast of a 100 W amp that can mix it with the best of them! A ton of brute force when needed - but with lots of vintage quality. This amp was sold to me by my buddy guitarist Mike Chandler who bid for it at an auction where Jim Marshall himself handed over the amp. However, loads of past grief with this beastie – it has to have a new mother board after a meltdown during a Watford gig. It was one of poor batch from Marshall that needed upgrades. It's in fine feckle once more and I've now moved the amp on to a younger inspiring musician called Luke Rainsford – step-son to bass player Mick Dumcombe.

As well as my latest prized possession – the Vox AC30 Top Boost - I also have a 50W Vox Night Train complete with a Vox 2X12 speaker cab. The AC30 Top Boost is one of the newer Custom jobs with tons of brutal power. It works a treat with the Rory Telecaster with little need for any additional pedals. Also one the AC30VR amps has taken root in Church for Sunday morning work and rehearsal.....I can lift these last two amps myself !!!!
